Our PEACE is found in GOD and his son JESUS CHRIST

Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Gods PEACE is very important for keeping our lives BALANCED

BALANCE

Philippians 4:7  (NIV)

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

John 16:33 New International Version (NIV)

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

When we have God’s PEACE IN us, we can share it with others

SHARE YOUR PEACE

James 3:17-18 (NIV)

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

Matthew 5:9 New International Version (NIV)

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Luke 10:6-10 (NIV)

If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.

Promote peace wherever you find yourself.  BE a person of peace by making time and space for Gods peace to dwell in you.

John 14:27  (NIV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

God’s PEACE gives us balance

His peace goes beyond our understanding

His peace guards our hearts and minds

The world brings trouble but he has overcome the world

He is trustworthy!

Share God’s PEACE

BE a person of peace by making time and space for God’s peace to dwell in you. No shortcuts!

God is Faithful
Heb 10:23

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.


Ps 36:5

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

God cares for us
Ps 34:18

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.


1 Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

God provides
Matt 6:33

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.


Phil 4:19

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

1Tim 6:17-18

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

God gives us peace and wellbeing
Phil 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

God has a future for us
Jer 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Eph 1:18

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.

God loves us and promises eternal life
Ps 130:7

Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.
Jn 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

James 1:12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Practical steps to build Trust using silence

AWARENESS or MINDFULNESS Of ourselves and God

We need to cultivate an awareness of God’s provision for us 

and an awareness of where WE fit into GOD’s plan. 

  • Silence reinterprets anxiety/worry.
  • Silence reinterprets accomplishment, productivity and success.
  • Silence give perspective.
  • Silence allows God to be God.
  • Silence practices the presence of God.

This is where an awareness of ourselves comes in and makes space for an awareness of God and practicing His presence. 

Strategies to focus – focus on your breathing rhythm.

  • Count your breath up to 10
  • Yah – Weh
  • You are God – I am not
  • I trust You

Strategies for dealing with our thoughts and emotions during silence.  

# Hand all thoughts and emotions back to God for his keeping.

  • I hand dinner, children, study into your hands Lord.
  • I hand anger, sadness, distrust, anxiety into your hands Lord.

Sit comfortably, start small, give yourself grace and keep trying.
